LifeConnection Northeast was birthed in the hearts of men who saw the beauty and the brokenness of inner city Kansas City and knew something had to be done. However the darkness and isolation of sin not only affects the poor and addicted but also those who would consider themselves well off. We noticed the emptiness that comes from finding our identity in people, homes, possessions, and social standing. We noticed the diversity and division amongst the people groups of Northeast and how, even in our day and time, prejudice is alive and well in our city.

While there are several areas of need in Kansas City, what the Northeast needs more than anything is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Jesus is the one who forgives and redeems the addicted and the prostitutes and the upwardly mobile. He alone provides lasting hope and joy. Through Him only can all people be unified into one Body centered on their new identity in Christ. What the Northeast needs is a Gospel-centered church willing to confront and work toward seeing this city reborn through the proclamation of Jesus Christ as Savior. This is why we are in Northeast Kansas City. We are here to herald this Good News that mends broken hearts and broken people. We are here to share a Gospel that can unite all earthly cultures into one new people. We are here to worship the God who alone brings hope and restoration into a hopeless world. We are here as a missional community of truth, beauty, and generosity, firmly rooted in Northeast Kansas City, for the spiritual awakening of Northeast Kansas City.

Chris & Nancy Seay

When Chris and Nancy married in 2010, they both knew they were going to be in ministry for the rest of their lives. They had spent two years working at a non-profit and during that time, God molded their hearts to be disciple-makers.

When they began to pray about living and planting a church in the Northeast, God revealed to them the hidden beauty of this neighborhood. Large, historic homes coupled with over 60 nationalities displayed God’s beautiful, creative design.

They knew God was calling them to plant a church here. A church in Northeast Kansas City, for Northeast Kansas City. A church where the Gospel was preached and lived out, in hopes that God would transform lives and a city.
